Kulshi Privacy Policy

Kulshi ("we", "us") is a classifieds marketplace app for buying and selling in Iraq. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Kulshi mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Kulshi you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and/or phone number (used for one-time verification codes), your name, date of birth, city, interests, and an optional profile photo.
• Listings and content you post. Photos, titles, descriptions, prices, category, condition, and city of the items you list, plus any reviews or reports you submit.
• Photos you choose to use with AI features (optional). If you use "Virtual Try-On" or "See it in your room", the photo you take or select (of yourself or your room) is sent to our AI provider to generate a preview image. These features are optional and only run after you give consent in the app. See section 3.
• Approximate location (optional). When you post an ad, the app can use your device location once, with your permission, to suggest your city. We store only the city you choose — not your coordinates. You can always pick a city manually instead.
• Usage information. Listing view counts, and a record of when you use the Call or WhatsApp button to contact a seller (we use this to ensure only genuine buyers can leave reviews).

2. How we use your information

• To create and secure your account (verification codes by SMS or email).
• To publish your listings and show them to other users.
• To let buyers and sellers contact each other.
• To power reviews, ratings, favourites, and notifications inside the app.
• To keep the marketplace safe: handling reports, preventing abuse, and enforcing fair-use limits on AI features.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.

3. AI preview features and your photos

Virtual Try-On and "See it in your room" work by sending two images — the listing's photo and the photo you provide — to Google Cloud (Vertex AI), which generates the combined preview image. Your photo is transmitted securely, used only to generate that preview, and is not stored on our servers. The generated preview is returned to your device and is not published anywhere unless you choose to share it. If you do not want your photos processed this way, simply do not use these features — everything else in Kulshi works without them.

4. What other users can see

• Your public profile: name, profile photo, city, rating, and number of reviews.
• Your listings and their photos.
• Your phone number is shared with a signed-in user only when they choose to contact you about one of your listings using the Call or WhatsApp button. It is not otherwise displayed.

5. Service providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run Kulshi. They process data only on our instructions:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and image storage (our backend).
• Google Cloud (Vertex AI) — generates the optional AI preview images.
• Twilio — delivers SMS verification codes to your phone number.
• Our email provider — delivers email verification and account emails.

Calls and WhatsApp chats happen directly between you and the other user through your phone's apps; we are not part of those conversations and cannot see them.

6. Data retention and deleting your account

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. Listings expire and are archived automatically after their posting period ends. You can edit your profile information at any time in the app.

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at info@kulshi.com from your registered email, or by using the account-deletion option in the app's settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, listings, and reviews.

7. Security

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to personal data is restricted by row-level security rules on our database, and sensitive operations are rate-limited and validated server-side.

8. Children

Kulshi is not directed at children under 13, and you must be old enough to enter into a sales transaction in your country to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update it at this address and update the effective date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
